Lazara Press is a progressive publishing house located on the traditional, ancestral, unceded lands of Musqueam Indian Band, Squamish Nation, and Tsleil-Waututh Nation in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
It was founded in 1982 by Penny Goldsmith, its current owner. We publish poetry, literature, broadsides, and chapbooks. We also publish non-fiction work which address current issues of interest and concern.
The press is also committed to publishing, keeping in print and distributing works that might not otherwise be available. To that end, we also carry titles from some authors whose books, for various reasons, are no longer available from their original publishers.
Our book is found to be a drug; no man needs it or heeds it. In the space of a year our publisher
has disposed but of two copies, and by what painful efforts he succeeded in getting rid of these two, himself only knows…
— Charlotte Bronte, 1847
